Welcome and Instructions

Welcome, rising sophomores!

Enrique’s Journey: The Story of a Boy’s Dangerous Odyssey to Reunite with His Mother – by Sonia Nazario

Enrique’s Journey is the award-winning nonfiction book that tells the story of immigration to the United States through the specific story of Enrique, a boy from Honduras, who chooses to follow his mother on the dangerous journey from Tegucigalpa to America. The author, a Los Angeles Times reporter, retraced Enrique’s odyssey by traveling on top of trains, hitchhiking, taking buses, and facing the dangers the teen faced. Photographs and interviews with him, family members, other children, and those who provide aid along the way document the hazards of migration.
